A Woodbine Mansion Wedding Reception Full of Intentional Details

Kristen and Jarrett chose to celebrate their wedding in a way that felt completely true to them—not in one single day, but in two meaningful chapters! Their celebration began with an intimate ceremony in October at Sekrit Theater and later continued with reception at Woodbine Mansion in January. I always love when couples choose to design their wedding in a way that allows them to really slow down and experience each part of the celebration, and Kristen and Jarrett did this SO beautifully!

P.S. If you’re on the lookout for a Texas wedding photographer to document your wedding day—on digital and film—I’d love to chat!

The Wedding Ceremony Day

The ceremony day morning began getting ready at Commodore Perry Estate, which was such a beautiful and relaxed place to start the day. Everyone slowly got ready, spent time together, and the whole morning just felt calm and joyful. I always love when a wedding day begins like this because it gives couples space to actually enjoy the moment instead of rushing from one thing to the next.

Their ceremony took place at the glass chapel at Sekrit Theater, which is one of the most unique ceremony spaces in Austin. The chapel is surrounded by greenery and filled with natural light, which made the whole ceremony feel really intimate. Kristen and Jarrett were so present with each other the entire time, and you could just feel how meaningful the moment was for them.

The entire ceremony day was captured on Super 8 film, which gave everything such a nostalgic, home-movie kind of feel. After the ceremony, everyone headed to dinner at Juliet Italian Kitchen to keep celebrating together. It felt more like a cozy dinner party than a formal reception, which made it such a fun way to end the evening before their bigger celebration later at Woodbine Mansion.

A Reception at Woodbine Mansion

A few months later in January, Kristen and Jarrett gathered everyone together again for their reception at Woodbine Mansion. The evening felt relaxed, joyful, and full of celebration as friends and family came together to continue what had started back in October.

Woodbine Mansion is already such a beautiful space, but Kristen and Jarrett filled the evening with thoughtful details that made it feel even more personal. Kristen carried the most beautiful floral purse created by House of Honor, and it was one of those pieces that instantly caught everyone’s attention. Guests were greeted with custom matchboxes at the bar and a vintage sticker machine that quickly became a guest favorite (I swear every time I turned around someone new was making a sticker!). During cocktail hour, a live string quartet played while guests grabbed drinks, explored the mansion, and of course made plenty of stickers at the vintage sticker machine.

Celebrating the Night

The rest of the evening unfolded so naturally. The vintage rentals, the hand-painted cake plate, and all the little details throughout the room made the reception feel thoughtful and curated without ever feeling overdone. One of my favorite moments of the night happened when Kristen and Jarrett stepped away for a quiet moment together in the upstairs sunroom before heading back down to the dance floor. I always tell couples to take little pauses like that throughout their wedding day, because those moments together often end up meaning the most.
