Mya and Paco’s wedding at The Springs Waxahachie was one of those where I drove home thinking about it for days. I photographed their engagement session over a year ago at the bar where they had their first date, so showing up to their wedding didn’t feel like work – it felt like getting to watch two friends step into something they’ve been building for a long time.
There’s something really special about walking into a wedding already knowing a couple’s rhythm. The way they laugh, the way they calm each other down and the way they just fit. That comfort changes everything, and you can see it all over their photos. To know Mya and Paco really is to love them.

P.S. If you’re on the lookout for a Dallas/Fort Worth wedding photographer to document your wedding day—on digital and film—I’d love to chat!

Mya and Paco’s wedding at The Springs Waxahachie just felt good from the moment I walked in. Their ceremony was tucked into the trees, framed with greenery and soft white florals lining the aisle, and it all felt so calm and peaceful. The wooded ceremony space at The Springs Waxahachie makes everything feel grounded. It’s naturally beautiful and creates the sweetest atmosphere for such an important moment!
Once the ceremony began and everyone stood, the whole space shifted in the best way. Mya walked down the aisle wearing her mom’s original wedding dress — not a recreation or redesign, but the actual gown! If you know me at all, you know I will always love anything that carries legacy. There’s something sacred about wearing a gown that already holds a love story. It adds depth you can’t fake and made the whole day feel layered in the sweetest way!

The reception felt like a candlelit dinner party in the best way. Chandeliers glowing, long tables lined with glass hurricanes, soft white florals everywhere. It felt classic but still relaxed, and elevated but not stiff. Then there was the dance floor. They brought in a hand-painted floor all the way from Mexico, which was beautiful!
Mya planned every single detail herself, and you could tell she genuinely loved the process. Nothing felt random. Everything had heart behind it. It makes so much sense that she started her own event planning business Ralph Co. Wedding & Events after their wedding! They ended the night with chocolate milkshakes and fries, and I will forever support that decision because I absolutely LOVED it!
We documented everything on digital, film and Super 8 film, which felt like the perfect fit for a wedding this sentimental. During their portraits, they even took turns filming each other on Super 8, which always makes for the cutest photos. When couples join in on the fun with documenting the process, it turns out so natural and heartfelt. Super 8 videography has this soft, nostalgic movement that doesn’t feel overproduced. It feels like memory. Check out my blog on Why I Love Super 8mm Wedding Films (And Why You’ll Want it For Your Wedding Too)

If you’re getting married at The Springs Waxahachie (or anywhere in DFW) and you care about having your wedding documented in a way that feels emotional, relaxed, and true to you, I’d love to connect.
I’m Hannah, and I photograph weddings on digital, film, and Super 8. I care deeply about creating imagery that feels like an heirloom—not just something pretty, but something that lasts. My approach is calm and intentional, focusing on the in-between moments just as much as the big ones!
